An Ankle Monitor
I have missed a lot of recording things about Carson. I won't remember them all. I had to kick him out after he repeatedly brought strangers into my home in the middle of the night, and they would drink and smoke in my house. STRANGERS getting drunk and/or high in my house with his 3 younger siblings nearby.... Yeah, he had to go.
He left on a Thursday, after I told him he had until that Saturday. He left because I told him to mow the lawn and he said he shouldn't have to since he was leaving anyway. He had promised to mow for 3 days before that because Jason hurt his foot and I needed help. But he didn't.
We had court the following Tuesday for his juvenile court case. The judge found out he had been kicked out and asked me why. I said he wasn't keeping the rules, and I had to protect my younger kids. The judge wanted Carson to be somewhere more permanent than living on the street or bouncing between friend's couches so he said he could stay at the Volunteers of America youth resource center (VOA) or go to the juvenile receiving center (JRC). He opted for the VOA, and I dropped him off there after court. He left the facility within 10 minutes. When the probation officer found out, she told the judge and a bench warrant was issued. I took him to the detention center where he was to stay until they could find something more permanent and locked down.
After 10 days in detention, he was given the chance to go to the VOA with an ankle monitor and a probation officer he has to check in with twice a day and keep them informed any time he leaves the facility or returns there. He keeps asking to come over for "help" or a "bed" because they don't always have a bed for him. I don't get why this is better than bouncing between friends, but what do I know. He's being monitored.
He got stopped for trying to steal. Despite the ankle monitor, the store's security just let him go with a "trespass" and told him to stay away from the store for 12 months. No arrest??? He's already in legal trouble. Why don't they do something? UGH I'm guessing it's just too much work. I don't know.
Two of his adult court cases are closed out, one for domestic violence and one for damage to a jail cell while in custody. One more, for when he stole $600 from me, and the juvenile court case where he was charged with 3 counts of forced sodomy.
This kid really doesn't get the seriousness of the situation. Hopefully something sinks in soon because I don't want my son living like this forever.
